About me
Frédéric Chamsseddine
I've been working in the web industry since the early 2000s, after spending a few years in the regional press and in communications agencies. As my professional experience has grown, so have my areas of expertise, working for large groups in France and the United States (IBM, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard), as well as small organisations in France and Europe.
Press illustrator, computer graphics designer, editorial designer, web developer, CSS/HTML integrator, for companies as diverse as publishing houses, law firms, the IT industry, personal services, sports coaching and so on.
I find solutions to meet the creative and graphic communication needs of the sectors that call on me.
In 2011, digital accessibility and in 2015 web quality assurance were added to my areas of experience. I am an Accessiweb Accessibility Assessment expert (in French) and referent, a Web Quality Assurance referent and an official Opquast-certified trainer (in French).
I'm trying to make the web a better place by passing on my knowledge, teaching the fundamentals of digital accessibility at the Multimedia and Internet Department of the Blois University Institute of Technology (IUT Blois). While I'm on the subject of making the web a better place, what's the carbon footprint of this site?
I have become a Multimedia Craftsman, because beyond the primary definition of the word ‘Craftsman’ - one who works with his hands - my work is done with a humanistic approach (as opposed to an industrial one).
The tools I use are multimedia, from digital to paper, from pixel to brush, from line of code to coloured pencil.
4 main axes: observe, imagine, discuss and realize.
Observe:
Getting to know the person I'm talking to, the history of their project, what moves them, visually, immersing myself in their craft.
Imagine:
Unravelling the thread to tell a story, their story, fine-tuning the angles, with all the expertise I have to bring out their identity.
Discuss:
Confronting ideas, submitting them, deconstructing them in order to reconstruct them and bring out a lead that will lead to a concept that will have won everyone's approval.
Realize:
Using digital or traditional tools to bring the idea to life, an idea that is ready to be put into practice and that we can be proud of.
